The AdsFoundation free legal advice clinic ran once a week, with a single volunteer between May 2022 and January 2024.  During that time we provided advice and signposting to 60 inquirers.

In December 2022 Dr Zoe Picton-Howell who ran the free legal clinic was a runner up in the LawWorks pro-bono awards for her work in establishing and running the AdsFoundation clinic.

Advice was given by an experienced advisor with knowledge of day to day life in health and social care.  AdsFoundation’s legal clinic was a first stop clinic. An opportunity for inquirers to gain preliminary advice about their legal concern so that they were aware of their rights, the relevant law and any relevant professional guidance.

The aim of this clinic was to help resolve concerns early, before they escalate and lead to break downs in relationships or the need for litigation.  Those using the service were offered a free one-off appointment, lasting a maximum of 45 minutes.  AdsFoundation did not ‘take on’ cases or represent inquiriers. However, if it is clear an inquirer needed this level of support, AdsFoundation sign posted inquirers to other organisations who will hopefully were  able to help.

The clinic received alot of inquiries on legal issues beyond the scope of the clinic. These enquirers were signposted to the appropriate organisations for advice and support.
