#AdsHeroesAdwards for 2021 Announced.
The 2021 #AdsHeroesAdwards were announced on Twitter on Sunday 19th December, highlighting the work of individuals and organisations who have lived and worked the values Adam advocated through exceptionally challenging times.
Adam had planned to launch annual awards on Twitter once he left hospital, something tragically he never got the opportunity to do. Adam often saw tweets from glittering health awards, often made to organisations that had applied for those awards. Whilst no doubt worthy winners, Adam wanted a simple, low cost awards event, where awards we given to people who did not seek out recognition by applying for an award, perhaps with the infrastructure of an organisation behind them, but were quietly just doing positive things and living and working the values Adam advocated. He wanted patients, families and voluntary sector organisations to be equals with NHS staff and organisations in his award ceremony, recognising the huge amount so many contribute, unrecognised.
Following Adam’s death his family launched the #AdsHeroesAwards of Twitter in December 2015. Awards have been made annually since and are now awarded by the #AdsFoundation.
